Three R Program of Charity
Goals
To provide each individual and each family with an opportunity for maximum spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. To develop close relationships with all parish organizations and to contribute to the mission of the parish, diocese, and universal Church. To provide the structure and training to resolve conflict in a manner that respects the dignity of each individual, allows input from all members of the community at the proper place and the proper time, and provides a mandate for making a school environment that is in accord with our spiritual and academic needs. To protect the well being of each student, parent, and staff member through a well-communicated and comprehensive strategy to form a more charitable community
History
The Three R’s Program was developed by Father Dwight Birket and approved by Bishop Olmsted in 2003. Essentially, it is a proactive community – building program in which students, parents, and teachers practice and learn about Christian Respect, Responsibility, and Reverence. The Three R’s Program includes Parent, Teacher, and Student Covenants, Educational and Retreat Opportunities for Teachers, Students, and Parents and methods for promoting greater involvement in the parish by families. Blessed Sacrament began its Three R Program in the 03-04 school year with a series of collaborative parent, teacher, and student meetings paving the way for an agreement on core values and resulting Student, Teacher and Parent Covenants.
