Curriculum at Blessed Sacrament School is developed by a committee of teachers under the guidance of the principal and according to requirements from the North Central Association of Accreditation and the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.

Core Curriculum for K-5 consists of Religion, Language Arts, Science, PE, Phonics, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Handwriting, General Music, Spanish, Technology and Spelling. Core curriculum for the 6-8 grade is Religion, Language Arts (Literature, Grammar, and Composition), Science, PE, General Music, Spanish --elective, Math and Social Studies. The following chart illustrates the Diocesan recommended time allotment (in minutes) for each subject area. Our half-day Kindergarten program obviously has to have a different approach. The program has been very successful as it is now formatted.

Remember these recommendations are just guidelines and each school has to fit them to their own needs. Blessed Sacrament teaches Spanish and Computers in addition to the listed subjects. We do, however, aspire to live up to the spirit of the recommendations.
