Religious formation is the top priority at Blessed Sacrament School. Our religious curriculum ensures that Catholic doctrine is interwoven throughout our curriculum and treasured and lived in our school faith community. Our curricular resources are chosen in accordance with their compatibility with Church teachings.
Blessed Sacrament school staff will publicly advocate the teachings of the Pope and the Magisterium. Our Catholicity will be evident in our worship, our service for Gospel values, and especially in the pro-Catholic causes of missions to the poor, religious vocations, and the sanctity of life.
Overall goals include:
- To teach the traditions and precepts according to the Catholic Church;
- To present the Church as a Missionary Church in which each person is responsible for bringing the Good News of Christ’s salvation to all;
- To encourage prayer as a personal habit through daily prayer in class;
- To establish a faith community rich with the presence of the Holy Spirit and sanctified with grace and righteousness.
To accomplish these goals, the school uses the Ignatius Press religious series. Teachers may supplement this curriculum with anything approved by the Catholic Church.
