As a 1981 graduate of KSU, Jean began teaching in Wichita public schools. After eleven years in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classroom, Jean took a position as a teaching specialist with the science department. She worked four years at the Energy-Ecology Center and Earhart Environmental Magnet and six years at the Great Plains Nature Center. In the fall 2002, Jean followed God’s call to join the staff at Blessed Sacrament. Each year her assignment has varied. Currently she is our middle school religion teacher and Religion Bowl coach. Jean loves challenging the middle school students to not only know the faith, but to take it to heart and make it their own.

Jean has been married to Ken since 1984. John, currently a senior at Kapaun, plans to attend WSU next fall. Lauren, a freshman at Kapaun, is often seen around Blessed Sacrament tutoring on Thursday afternoons and as a Team Leader for Friday night Challenge meetings.

Jean enjoys active involvement in the Church. She lectors, is an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, and on the Vocation Awareness Team at her home parish, St. Thomas Aquinas. She and Ken have been highly active in Marriage Encounter since making a Weekend in 1994. They currently serve as Community Pillar couple.
