The school’s approach to technology is “hands on” — training students not only to use computers but also to develop an understanding of their power, usefulness and limitations. Skills such as keyboarding, editing and research are mastered.
The Blessed Sacrament computer network consists of a total of 80 computers (two computer centers, computers in individual classrooms, and computers in tutoring rooms). Students use technology to aid their learning as well as to reinforce and enrich material learned in the classroom.
Each student must sign a technology/internet agreement form stating that certain rules of upkeep, etiquette, and morality will be upheld in use of computers. Blessed Sacrament reserves the right to deny computer privileges to students. Students may use the computers before or after school on a limited basis.
Computer Lab
The Computer Lab contains 30 computers and a large screen projector for class demonstration. Students in all grades are assigned specific class time in the lab to learn and apply computer skills and typing skills as an adjunct to their classroom curriculum.
Technology Lab
The Technology Lab is located on the second floor in the main building (O’Sullivan). It opens to the school library. The Technology Lab contains 15 computers. Students use the lab for reports and research.
