The School Council is comprised of nine elected members of the parish community, the school principal and the pastor. Elected members serve on the School Council for a three-year term. The Council acts in an advisory capacity to the school principal and the pastor. Responsibilities include monitoring of Catholic identity in the school, academic excellence, policy review, planning and development, and communications.
School policies are formulated at the administrative level with the advice of the school council and with input solicited from school staff, parents, students and parishioners. The school principal administers the school with the Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church having final authority in all decision-making. The rules of the school are formulated first and foremost to ensure the best possible student formation in the safest and most Christian environment. Rules are essential to any functional organization and, longterm, are essential for the formation of self-discipline for everyone.
The school council meets the first Wednesday of each month. There is an opportunity for a public
agenda at the beginning of each meeting. Please call the school office at least two weeks prior to the date of this meeting to request a public agenda opportunity. Please be advised that it is the mission of the School Council to advise on school policies and procedures, not on individual grievances and conflict. Current members are Christine Clare, Audrey Hane, Clayton Headley, Kathy Kehr, Mike Knorp, Melissa Smith, Tracy Buer, Doug Stuhlsatz and John Walker.
