K4J
K4J Teams are now forming for the 2008-2009 school year. Pre-K4J kids are kids ages 3 through kindergarten. K4J Friends are 1st and 2nd graders. K4J Apostles are 3rd and 4th graders. K4J Captains are 5th through 8th graders.

  • We meet in the Blessed Sacrament School cafeteria monthly during the school year from 3:00 – 5:00pm, usually on the second Sunday of the month
  • Kids from all parishes are welcome.
  • If enough K4J parents are interested, an adult formation activity will be offered at Blessed Sacrament at the same time as the monthly K4J Mission. 
  • Babysitting may be available for children under three whose parents are either helping with the K4J Mission or participating in the adult formation activity.

Mission of the Month
          Each mission seeks to fulfill three objectives:

  • Cognitive:  The child learns concrete material
  • Affective:  The child desires to change and form a new habit
  • Apostolic:  The child realizes that his successful mission has brought Christ to the world

Hidden Treasure
Catholic Kids Net has developed a program based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  The children receive a systematic formation in the truths of the Catholic Faith.

  • Hidden Treasures – the CKN Catechetical Lesson
  • The monthly virtue and an explanation of the corresponding “Mission of the Month”
  • Craft supplies to do a project related to the “Mission of the Month”
  • Table Top Mission Card with stickers for daily accountability on their progress
  • A “CKNet Holy Hero” trading card
  • A CKN Team activity which may be done at the team meeting
A newsletter for parents, Parents’ Perspective, which provides parenting tips and support for the parents’ role as first educator of your child.
