Campaign for Blessed Sacrament

In September of 2002, Blessed Sacrament completed another milestone— the addition of new classrooms, new parish offices, a tornado shelter, new parking, a large commons area, a new gymnasium and a new rectory, all under budget and ahead of schedule. Our remarkable parish now has facilities equal to or better than any of our sister parishes in east Wichita.

Through the extraordinary generosity of parishioners, approximately $6 million has been funded to date, leaving the parish with less than $100,000 to pay on the building projects. We hope to pay off the remaining debt by the end of 2007, almost five years ahead of schedule. This is an incredible feat for a parish of our size and demographics.

At the blessing of the first phase of our new facilities in 1999, Bishop Gerber gave a wonderful homily about how Blessed Sacrament epitomized the joy of giving. We are truly an example for all parishes to follow in what we have done, and in how we have done it. Those of us who have been involved in the Campaign have been genuinely humbled by the joy of giving that we have experienced through all of you.

If you are a parishioner who has already pledged to the Campaign, please keep Blessed Sacrament in your prayers, just as you have in your hearts. If you are a new parishioner, or one who has not yet pledged, we urge you to jump on board and experience this joy of giving first hand. If you are not a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament, we urge you to come and see first hand what a special parish we have, how this culture we have created of a true joy in giving has transcended financial matters and crept into all aspects of our lives.

We urge all of you to think about Blessed Sacrament not only for this Campaign, but also for its long-term health by remembering the parish in your Will or Estate Planning.

On behalf of everyone who has worked so hard on the Campaign, we thank you sincerely for what you have done.

Endowment Fund of Blessed Sacrament School

Mission:  To provide financial assistance for operation of the parish school.

Our former pastor, Father Victor Bieberle founded the Blessed Sacrament School Endowment Fund in 1984. It is Blessed Sacrament’s fund for the parish school. The Fund is vitally important to continue to give our parish children the best possible school facilities.

Benefactor donations and bequests in wills are deposited and held in a capital account under the operations of the Diocesan Endowment Fund. The dividend and interest income from this capital account are donated to the school. The utilization of Fund income is under control of our pastor and the Blessed Sacrament Endowment Fund Board Members.

Regular donations and bequests in wills are encouraged. Checks should be made payable to Blessed Sacrament School Endowment Fund.
