Church Pews
The work to put a new finish on the pews in our church has been completed. The new finish highlights the oak wood that was used to construct the pews and adds to the beauty of the interior of our church.
Unfortunately the surfaces of several pews have already been scratched. These scratches were probably made by sharp objects such as keys, cell phones and small knives which people hang from their clothes. Please remove these devices and put them in your pocket or hand bag before you enter the pews. Some infant carriers may also have sharp objects which when slid across the pews can scratch the finish.
Small children have a natural tendency to move around in the pews. If allowed they will walk on the pews or rub the soles of their shoes against the back of the pews or rub the soles of their shoes against the back of the pews in front of them. When they do, the small particles of sand or gravel on the soles of their shoes will scratch the varnish on the pews. Please prevent your children from damaging the new finish on the pews.
It is the responsibility of all members of Blessed Sacrament Parish to keep the pews free from damage for ourselves and the many visitors who come to our church.
