Mission of the Pastoral Council
To achieve a fuller participation of the whole parish in extending Christ's mission to make the Gospel known and people holy.
To provide a vehicle for shared responsibility on a parish level so the movement of the Holy Spirit may be discerned among the people of the parish.
To work toward a unified spiritual vision among the members of the parish.
To help the parish meet the challenge of truly being the Church in the modern world.

The Pastoral Council functions in both an active and advisory capacity to the Pastor by providing advice and support and taking action as delegated by him. The Council assumes a leadership role in planning the future direction of the parish by being that forum in which competing parish needs are discussed with the Pastor and balanced in light of the Parish Vision and the good of the entire parish family. It will then develop a plan of action to implement decisions made by the Pastor and evaluate the progress made. The Council also provides constructive relationships with individuals and organizations in the parish and diocese by keeping formal and informal lines of communication open, and facilitating the work of the other organizations as needed. The Pastoral Council is comprised of a president and seven members who are appointed by the pastor. Each member chairs one of the following commissions for a period of five years. The Council meets monthly and more often as needed throughout the year.
